CASA DÍAZ
The preliminary design is a three-level home built for a plot with a significant slope. The terrain's incline has been used as a key factor in creating stepped terraces that optimize the use of the lot and adapt to the existing topography.
Utilization of the slope and terraces
The main design strategy is to take advantage of the natural slope of the land to create terraces on each level. These terraces not only allow for the safe and stable construction of the home but also create usable outdoor spaces that connect with the natural surroundings. Each terrace serves as an extension of the interior space, providing areas for recreation, gardens, and green zones that seamlessly integrate with the house.
Lighting and cross ventilation
The orientation of the house and the layout of the spaces have been carefully studied to ensure optimal lighting and cross ventilation in all areas. The goal is to make the most of natural light and airflow, reducing the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning systems. The terraces also play an important role in cross ventilation, allowing air to circulate throughout the home.
